Chuppa

A family in New Jersey commissioned this family chuppa.  The silk pieced and appliqued "lining" (seen at right) is backed with an embroidered satin purchased in India by the family specifically for the chuppa.  The navy follows the satin scalloped edge.  The side panels represent the four siblings.  The stars represent their children. Each star is temporarily attached so it can be removed and embroidered with the name of the child. Additional stars were provided so new spouses may be added with each marriage.
